TEMPORARY DISABILITY
Temporary disability is the weekly payment you receive while you are off
work due to an on-the-job injury. You will receive 70% of your average
weekly wage up to a maximum of $528.00. These payments continue as long as:
1. You are off work, at the direction of your treating doctor; and
2. You are receiving medical treatment with the expectation that your
condition will improve in the near future.
Your temporary disability payments will stop if:
1. You return to work at any job;
or
2. You are released by your treating physician whether you are able to
return to work or not;
or
3. Your treating physician gives you a percentage disability rating in his
record or in a report to the employer’s insurance company;
or
4. Your treating physician feels that you will not get any better on a
long-term basis even though you may still need treatment to minimize your
symptoms on a day-to-day basis.
Your employer can stop this weekly check at any time if a Form 3 has not
been filed on your behalf.
